Like drugs which have side effects sometimes, there are also diabetic remedies that when not applied properly can bring damage than remedy and may worsen the situation of a diabetes patient.

It is always best to do them in moderate manner and under the guidance of a medical professional. Below are some of the diabetic remedies which can also possibly bring damage if not applied properly.
Swimming
Swimming is a good workout especially to those who suffer from joint and nerve pain. Take note however that it uses both shoulders and hips which can worsen the nerve pain in these joints. When swimming worsens body pain especially in the joints, stop swimming and consult your doctor immediately.
Vitamin B-6
Vitamin B-6 is important for protein and blood cells metabolism and has an important role in the nervous system function. Since it’s one of the diabetic remedies that can possible bring damage, the amount of intake for this vitamin should always be monitored since so much vitamin B-6 may cause damage of the nerves which in turn can result to pain and numbness.
Suggested dietary intake is 1.3 milligrams for those aged 19 to 50. Females above 50 years old can take 1.5 milligrams and males older than 50 years old should have at least 1.7 milligrams.
Raw or unpasteurized Milk
Raw milk may sometimes be suggested to treat diabetes especially in the pre-insulin stage. However, raw milk is not pasteurized, thus may contain bacteria. Pasteurized milk, which taste is as good as an unpasteurized milk, does not fall to the list of diabetic remedies that can bring damage. It is safer since it is heated to a high temperature to kill bacteria. Prevent bacteria and the disease they might cause by avoiding unpasteurized milk and cheese, yogurt, ice cream or other food containing raw milk. Foodborne illness from raw milk can lead to gastrointestinal discomfort, organ failure, nerve damage and headaches.
